Simon Xavier, 20, of Ottawa: One cool customer and man, can he dance hip hop. "You're probably like the dopest one to hit the stage," Luther Brown told him, a good compliment considering how grumpy Luther was getting over other hip-hop dancers that he felt didn't do the genre justice.
Now for the rest. I confess I have mixed feelings about Luca "Lazylegz" Patuelli, 25, of Montreal. Born with diminished muscles in his legs, he uses crutches to walk, but he also uses those crutches to do some serious badass breaking. I thought he was going to get the usual "you're an inspiration" speech and the standing O and then be told he wasn't right for the show. He got the speech and the ovation, but he also got a ticket to Toronto. I appreciate the gesture of applauding someone who has turned his disability into an opportunity, but given all the partnering the show requires, I don't see how Luca can possibly get past the finals.
